Many reservation and ticketing systems charge either the customer or the merchant a percentage of the total checkout price as their platform fee, often somewhere between 3% and 10%. Some systems offer a flat-fee option, but the monthly cost can be extremely high.

PonoRez gives you more flexibility.

You can use a traditional system service fee model if that works best for your business. But with PonoRez, you also have another option: you can add your own checkout fee, keep that revenue, and use it to offset your credit card processing costs, PonoRez monthly fees, or both.

For example, adding a 6% checkout fee should cover your merchant processing costs and most or all of your PonoRez monthly subscription. That means you can reduce or even eliminate the impact of system and merchant fees on your business.  Beware of Consumer Protection Laws; extra fees need to be disclosed before the checkout page.

A good way to think about percentage-based reservation pricing is this: charging a percentage of your sales is like a landlord charging rent based on a tenant’s salary instead of the home’s size, location, and amenities. Your software cost should reflect the tools, service, and system resources you use — not simply how much revenue your business generates.

At PonoRez, we believe merchants should have the flexibility to choose the payment and pricing program that best fits their business. Our transaction pricing is designed around a flat PonoRez fee that includes merchant-specific direct costs plus transaction fees.

Direct costs are based on the modules and services your business uses, including SMS, data usage, system load, and any additional professional services such as website management or SEO. New users start at the lowest direct-cost tier during their first month.

Direct costs start at $250 per month and may increase based on your account’s usage (number of products, product diversity, number of employees, demand, and service requirements).
